I invented the new manufacturing method with new chair design for co-prosperity of old workers and new technologies. Through the chair design, I made a similar production method to a large 3D printer, using the new machine tool made by reassembling machines commonly used by small producers. This chair is made of hard urethane and soft urethane. As this chair is simple to produce, it is easy for the general public to design.
Since this production method connects consumers with producers in the closest place to them, it minimizes the transportation cost of goods that consume a lot of transportation, such as chairs and sofas. Also, this allows consumers to purchase furniture that fits the exact size and design they want. As a result, it guarantees the work of local producers.

Design for co-prosperity of old workers and new technologies

By presenting new design chairs with new production methods, new jobs are guaranteed for those who are losing their jobs with new technologies., such as 3D printing.

1. Previous Research

I investigated the small business site in Korea that was one of the top 10 in the world in the field of the numerical control type machine tool NC. For the new design, I developed a new design considering the advantages of CNC experts and their old machines and computers being able to control X, Y, and Z coordinates well.

2. Solution for futuristic industry with previous generation

2-1. The connection between remote designers, producers, and consumers, which reduce transportation costs.

2-2. Change from traditional furniture production to the laminated 3D printing method.

2-3. Change from traditional furniture material to urethane material that is soft or sturdy.

3. CNC machine equipped with an injector, bubble remover, and nozzle serving to mix urethane.

4. Additional manufacturing process

The additional process is to cut styrofoam with a two-dimensional styrofoam cutter, coat it, and used it as a support for 3D printing, for the free form of design.

Manufacturing process

1) Injecting hard urethane foam to make the support to the backrest of the couch 2) Injecting hard urethane foam, to make the legs of the sofa and seating supports.
3) Injecting soft urethane foam and spray coating urethane and attaching the Velcro fabric to it to make the sitting cushion. 4) Spraying the separator and inject the soft urethane foam. Injecting each cushion and spraying the separation material.
5) Injecting soft urethane foam and spraying coating urethane and attaching the Velcro fabric to it to make the backrest cushion. 6) Spraying the separator and inject the soft urethane foam. Injecting each cushion and spraying the separation material.
7) Adjusting the length of the long cloth, cut it, and zip it up 8) Bolting the seating area and the backrest area
